About
It’s just a moment.
Simple. Natural. Basic. Clean.
Recorded how it is. No tricks.
That’s the aim, the beauty… the plan at least. I wear my influences on my sleeve. I’ve always been a lover of music and it’s taken me to many places in the mind. I have seen various music videos and documentaries and been moved by them but thoughts to try this site were spawned by the work of La Blogotheque’s Take Away Shows. Started by Chryde and Vincent Moon, I have loved these videos when I first came across their #41 shoot of Arcade Fire playing in an elevator.
There are various other sites that have popped up sharing a similar goal of capturing the spontaneous beauty that a true artist can condure up, and I have linked to them below. I strongly reccommend you to check out their recordings. They capture music in it’s natural form; the way it should be. If you take a moment to slow down in the fast paced web world, press play on the video, remove your hands from the keyboard and mouse, sit back and enjoy them for what they worth you’ll end up with a small glimpse of when things all make sense. Then sure enough the video ends and soon after reality kicks back in and you’ll be back to clicking away.
Shoot The Player, in Sydney, have also captured some wonderful shot of bands in their acoustic glory. And I direct you to their work also.
I was a little confllicted to start this project, so not to tread on the already laid turf, but my aim in this project is not to compete with these other sites, but to continue the new genre in film and music that the internet has allowed to flourish. Although, over time, I do feel this site will unconciously evolve to something different than it’s predecessors. For now it shall follow what feels right and see the road it takes.
Enjoy the videos, enjoy your music and enjoy the ride ahead.
I encourage you to visit these other sites below.
