Tash Parker

Climb­ing into the car, for what I con­sid­ered to be early in the morn­ing, the good weather Gods for our Sat­ur­day road­trip to Somers were gen­tle. Smooth sail­ing down the free­way with cof­fee in hand and Mel­ways on sup­port, Kel­lie and I made it with time for break­fast at “the” place to grab food when your in Somers, the one and only Gen­eral Store.

Wait­ing for the ser­vice, my city patience was tested and reminded, we’re not in the big smoke any­more, it’s time to slow things down a bit. But before I get to indulged and go into the details of my break­fast (poached eggs with side of sausage) I should fast for­ward to the part involv­ing the star for the day Tash Parker.

Tash was an absolute plea­sure to deal with. Very easy going, wel­com­ing and keen for a chat mak­ing things very easy to fol­low the fairly null planned day and take things as they came. I per­haps wished I was able to cap­ture more of that side with the cam­era, but we don’t want to be too creepy with a cam­era in the face all the time do we. For it is the music that maketh the mistress.

The first song Tash played, On This Wind, I had not heard before and was my favorite for the day. After a brief walk along Somers beach, Tash found a spe­cial log to sit on, and brought out her shinny gui­tar (wave hello to mr cam­era man!) and began. The tim­ing of the lit­tle friend at the end seems almost con­trived, but I guar­an­tee we’re not that cheap to throw that kind of false moment of spon­te­naity at you.

After the beach time ses­sions there was a bit of a impromtued bush­walk, where I did bring the cam­era out for a bit, but if I posted that footage you would prob­a­bly loose your poched eggs with side of sausage on your key­board. Then we set­tled in a secret gar­den and Tash took it away for a few more tunes.

It was a plea­sure to do this shoot with Tash. For both Kel and I it was a great time to get away from the city for a day and expe­ri­ence some music, beach and pump­kin muffins. I hope these videos can take you some­where spe­cial as well.
